UMBENHAUER, Glenna Mae 91, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Springfield Regional Medical Center. She was born on April 15, 1927 in Champaign County, OH, a daughter of Jacob and Lillian Karg. She attended Third Church of God in Springfield, played several musical instruments and retired from the U.S. Census Department. Survivors include a daughter, Teresa Parsons; grandson, Sean Parsons; sister-in-law, Barbara Karg; nephews, Dick (Ann) Randall, Danny (Joyce) Nesselrotte, Billy Nesselrotte, Sam (Anna) Karg, Jr., Mike (Becky) Karg, Rick Karg and Tony (Bert) Moore; nieces, Carol (Mick) Faber, Kathy Ulbricht and Helen (Ernie) Chapman; and special thanks to Diana Queen, compassionate caregiver. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 62 years, Harry L. Umbenhauer, Jr.; sons, Lance Corporal Terry Lee and Jack Anderson; son-in-law, Roger Parsons; sisters, Esther (Mark) Moore, Betty Watkins and Mary Lou Arnold; brothers, Jacob (Kathy) Karg and Sam Karg; sisters-in-law, Agnes Nesselrotte and Dora Marie (Kenneth) Randall; and nephew, Henry Watkins. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 in the WALTER & LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, Urbana, where a service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ed Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Kingscreek Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Glenna's memory to the Alzheimer's Association, Miami Valley Chapter, 31 W. Whipp Road, Dayton, OH 45459.
