SANDS, Lynda Age 71 of Carlisle, passed from this life to her eternal home in heaven on August 21, 2018 after an extended illness with pancreatic cancer, while at Hospice of Butler and Warren Counties. Lynda was born April 18, 1947 to the late Rev. Lee A. Gore and Mary (Robinson) Gore. She graduated from Paul Blazer High School in Ashland, KY in 1965, and went on to receive her Bachelor's degree in Art Education at Eastern Kentucky University in 1970. One of her greatest joys was taking care of her grandchildren and spending time with her loved ones on family vacations. Her kindness and love for the Lord was manifested in her love for family, friends, co-workers, students, and everyone with whom she came into contact. She had a strong faith in the Lord and was an active member of Hillcrest Baptist Church, where she sung in the choir, mentored others, taught Sunday School to many ages through the years, ministered to many in their times of need, and was actively involved in the Prayer Shawl ministry. Preceding her in death was her father, Rev. Lee A. Gore and her mother, Mary Gore; her brother David Gore and her brother-in-law Ted See; her father-in-law Cecil Sands and mother-in-law Samantha Sands.
