Rosemary Hager COLLINS Obituary
COLLINS, Rosemary Hager 94, of Centerville passed away on Tuesday, July 24, at St. Leonard Retirement Community. She was a native of Ashland, Kentucky, and the daughter of the late Charles and Anna Myrtle Hager. After graduating from Ashland High School, she moved to Dayton and was employed at Patterson Field where she met her future husband Delbert Collins. After WWII they relocated to Indiana where they raised their family. Rosemary was a skilled seamstress and over the years also became skilled at many other crafts including refinishing antique furniture, quilting, and hooking rugs. She was the secretary for her church, West Richmond Friends Meeting, for 10 years. In 1967, the family moved back to Ohio and settled in Centerville. Rosemary was a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood for over 50 years. She, also, has been an active member of Normandy United Methodist Church for 50 years. Rosemary enjoyed golf and traveling and over the years she and Delbert traveled to 74 different countries. Rosemary is survived by her husband of 74 years, Delbert L. Collins of Centerville and her three children; Richard Collins of St. Petersburg FL, Marcia Hofman (George) of Damascus MD, and Robert Collins (Mary Jane) of Kettering. She also leaves five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one brother Donald Hager who resides in Allen, TX, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. A memorial service to celebrate Rosemary's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 15, at Normandy United Methodist Church, 450 W Alex Bell Rd, Centerville. Family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00 at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Normandy Endowment Fund.
