LAWSON, James P. 83, of Middletown, died Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at home. He was born in Hazard, Kentucky on June 14, 1935 to parents AC and Martha (Peters) Lawson. James had worked as a spot welder for Miami Carey for 32 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of Stratford Heights Church and volunteered with their nursing home ministry for 10 years. Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife, Annette (Stamper) Lawson; children, Peggy Ann (Don) McKinney & James (Renee) Lawson Jr.; siblings, Pauline Stacy & Prentis "Jitter" Lawson; grandchildren, Chris McKinney, Tyler Lawson & Connor Lawson. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert "Junior" Lawson, Willard Lawson, Denny Lawson & Wilford Lawson; and sisters, Daisy Cockerham, Christine Kilby, Ruth "Sis" Oligine Lawson, Dorothy Lawson & Elizabeth Lawson. Funeral Service will be held Monday, November 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at Wilson-Schramm-Spaulding Funeral Home, 3805 Roosevelt Blvd., Middletown with Pastor Bob Burns officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 - 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be at Woodside Cemetery.
