James Marcum Obituary
MARCUM, James Carmon Age 92 of Tipp City, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at Kettering Medical Center. He was born in Vincent, Kentucky on December 6, 1925 the son of Frank & Lennie (Mainous) Marcum. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in World War II as a Seabee in the 128 Naval Construction Battalion. He worked for General Motors in the shipping department and retired in 1980 after 32 years. He loved the outdoors and loved to fish. The family took annual vacations to Minnesota and Canada to fish. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy "Peggy" (Hines) Marcum; sons Stan Marcum and Steve (Jackie) Marcum both of Dayton; granddaughter Stephanie Marcum of Dayton; brother Robert Marcum of Lexington, Kentucky; sisters Berniece Smith of Dayton and Emma Bond of Beattyville, Kentucky and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Virgil Marcum. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 10:00 am 12:00 pm at the BLESSING-ZERKLE FUNERAL HOME, 11900 N. Dixie Dr., Tipp City. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Vincent officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in James' memory to Hospice of Miami County, P.O. Box 502, Troy, Ohio 45373. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.blessingfh.com
