John and I met briefly in downtown Cincinnati at one of his arts and craft shows in the '90s, I believe. I purchased one of his paintings, a Greek fishing village with a small outside cafe where I pictured myself one day. John appeared to be a very nice person and definitely a talented artist. May he rest in peace.

To all those who were close to John I give my most sincere condolences. I displayed my art work in John's arts and craft shows for many years and considered John to be a close friend. He always treated my family as his own often buying gifts for my little girl. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I have one of his paintings which I often admire and think fond thoughts of the artist.

I just learned of John's passing. In 2007 I commissioned John to paint my deceased fathers ship, USS St. Paul (1958-62) and mine, USS Mobile Bay (1992-95) steaming in the open ocean. It hangs in my office today as a small memorial to my father, and as a reminder of life at sea - something very special to me and my father. Rest in peace, John.
