PONZIANI, Kathleen Celestine (Dunne) age 82, of Kettering, OH, passed away peacefully on March 16, 2012, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Kathleen was born in Detroit, MI on November 30, 1929 and was the third of ten children. She was preceded in death by her parents Nola and Walter Dunne, her brother Bob Dunne and sister Eleanor Carver. She is survived by her loving husband, Louis; son Robert; daughter Carol DeGrazier (Ponziani) and son-in-law Tony, son Rick and daughter-in-law Jeanne Ponziani (Putnam); and son Larry. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kevin Ponziani, Mark Ponziani, Maria Blazejewski (Ponziani) and her husband Jonathan, and Dominic DeGrazier. She is also survived by her beloved sisters and brothers Virginia Edwards, Marion Nagle, Walter Dunne, Paul Dunne, Tad Dunne, Mike Dunne, and Margarite Jassoy. In 1954 Kathleen met the love of her life, Louis Ponziani, at a Christmas Party that she almost didn't attend except for the insistence of her sister, Eleanor. Kathy and Louis first met over the Christmas Punch Bowl. Fifty-six years and 9 months ago they were married on June 11, 1955. Kathleen was a self-taught painter and she worked diligently to become an accomplished artist. She discovered her own style for oil paintings that were both unique and captivating. She created over 3,000 paintings that ranged from ethereal to true-to-life. Her work is represented in galleries in the Midwest and private collections all over the world. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 4-7pm at Tobias Funeral Home - Far Hills Chapel, 5471 Far Hills Avenue, Kettering, Ohio 45429. A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at 11am at St. Charles Catholic Church in Kettering. Interment will follow at David's Cemetery in Kettering, Ohio.
