Gerald BOURNE Obituary


News Death Notice

BOURNE, Gerald W. (Jerry) passed away September 14, 2014 in Hospice care at Walnut Creek Nursing Center. Jerry was born October 17, 1931 in Somerset, Kentucky to the late Charles and Florence (Healy) Bourne. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia (Kirtley) Bourne and his daughter, Mary Pat Bourne. Jerry was a graduate of Xavier University where he was President of the Senior Class Council. He worked as an industrial trainer for large corporations. Jerry was an outstanding Carnegie instructor for ten years and a Certified Sage-ing Leader. He helped found the Queen of Apostles Community of which he was a member for over forty years. Jerry is survived by his wife, Carol (Judd) Bourne; his son, Kevin (Cathy) of Saudi Arabia; daughter, Eileen (Tim) Reser of Bellbrook; two grandchildren, Kristen and Ryan; three stepchildren, Jeff (Sue) Judd of Hilliard, Jennifer (Louis) Payeur of Charlotte, NC, and Ben Judd of Osaka, Japan; and four step grandchildren. Jerry was a true Southern gentleman, who will always be remembered for his gentility and his wit. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Queen of Apostles Church. Family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of Mass at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jerry's memory to Queen of Apostles or Hospice of Dayton. Arrangements in care of Reis Legacy Center Meyer-Boehmer Chapel.
