I knew Allen through the "healing weekends" for people living with AIDS. I was always impressed by his kindness and creative advocacy. I'm sure he touched countless lives in positive,life-changing ways. He will live on in this community. Godspeed, Allen.

Allen was a fantastic coworker and friend. He cared deeply for his patients and was a helping hand to countless members of the community struggling with mental illness. At the same time, he would brighten any room he was in with his perfect smile and quick, sharp wit.
He also was a tremendous asset his community... A volunteer and advocate, he was a tremendous ambassador for the causes he cared deeply about and a great representative of our community. I feel privileged and honored to have known him. Allen was a wonderful man who often deserved better than what he got from the world. I hope he and his family are able to be at peace.

My heart is aching for Allen's family and for all of us who knew him. While he was known by us as supervisor at Miami Valley Hospital, I got to know him better after I retired and attended his chorus performances. We had a shared love of Broadway. He was a talented actor with a fantastic voice. He will be greatly missed. R.I.P. Allen
