I have been out of town for the past few weeks and I was shocked to hear of Dave's passing. Missy, I have known Dave since we hired on together in 1977, he was, someone I could rely on, go to for advise, a great supervisor and a good friend. You have my deepest sympathy. May God bless you and keep you strong.

Dave was one of the best supervisors I had at DESC. He was caring and he always treated me with respect. He was so caring to Ken Fox who had a disability. That was only one aspect of the great guy Dave was. Condolences to his family. The world has lost a great guy: God has gained an Angel. Rest in Heaven Dave.

To Kara and the Collinsworth Family,

I am so sorry for your loss. Though your hearts may be heavy and your tears may be many, please know there is a family around you that share in your pain and grief, and wish you well. Dave lived a good life. He touched the lives of everyone he has met, depositing a little bit of himself in each one of us along the way. The magnitude of his greatness will live on forever. I am so very thankful for that. Dave hired me at DESC in 1987. I was also working for Dave when he retired from DSCC. Dave was a wonderful boss and loved by all. Thanks for sharing Dave with us over the years. Dave's life was never lived in vain. Dave's life had purpose and he will always be remembered in the minds and hearts of each one of us. Blessed are those that mourn, for they will be comforted. God bless you; and, may the Lord comfort you, guide you, and give you peace that surpasses all understanding. May the Lord continue to bless and keep you. May He continue to shine His light upon you, and give you peace. The measure of Dave's life was stellar and great, and the loss is tremendous. I am determined to make the greatness of Dave's life far exceed the unmeasured, gravity of his loss. Therefore, Dave's light in the world will never be extinguished. It will only grow stronger and brighter.

To the Collinsworth family, I am so sorry for your loss. Dave was a great friend and a great boss and I feel very fortunate that he selected me to work with him. He was always so proud of his daughters, Kara and Kasey, and always smiled when he spoke of them. When it came to his job, the customer came first and he would always take care of his work family. To sum it up, he was a great guy and will be greatly missed.

To the Family, I'm so sorry. It's tough when you lose a family member. I know because I have. May God bless you all, and may he give you some sense of peace as you move forward in life. Dave was a special man to anyone who knew him. He was my friend and card playing buddy for many many years, and we had so many great times together. He will forever be remembered for his ability to come through with some of the best card hands ever, of course at the most opertune times......(Big Money). Dave was a winner who dedicated many years of his life to supporting the warfighter. I choose to celebrate his life remembering all the fun times we had together.

Dave was the finest supervisor I ever had. He was fair and friendly to everyone and just a plain "good old boy". I will never forget him. I will continue to try to emulate him, but will always fall short. If anyone deserved to enjoy their retirement, he did and was taken from us much too soon.

David was Mike and I's friend for over 40 years. They were the best of friends in high school and boy do we have some memories. He always had a smile on his face, no matter what he was doing. A great man, father and friend. He would do anything for his friends, he was just that kind of person. He has an amazing family to carry on his kindness. He will be missed by so many. I ask God to comfort the girls, Janet, Debbie and Billy Ray as they go thru this. We know David is in heaven, because he trusted the Lord.

With heartfelt condolences, our thoughts and prayers go out to the Collinsworth family on the loss of such a dedicated, generous, and fun loving man. I have never come across a more selfless person when it came to his customers and family. He always made every effort to accommodate the needs of any customer 24/7. His perseverance, good old boy charm and genuine desire to assist service members set a very high bar for his employees and co-workers. I was honored to have served with Dave and he has left us too soon.
