BLAIR, Ava J. Age 71, of Troy, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 16, 2017. She was born October 14, 1945 in Middlesboro, KY to David & Oneita (Gilbert) Haynes. Ava was active with the Broken Chains group with Ginghamsburg Church and she was an avid Harley-Davidson motorcyclist. She was preceded in death by her father and by a brother, David Carl Haynes. Ava is survived by her mother, Oneita Flaugher; two children, Deborah Gambrel (Del) and Dewaine "Tony" Blair (Melissa); seven grandchildren, Andrea "Ann," Bill, Logan, Brittany, Rachel, Tim and Jackie; and by eight great grandchildren, Gracie, Brenna, Wyatt, Noah, Americhus, Myah, Ryver and Blaklyn. The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m., Wednesday (9/20) at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday (9/21) at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Moehn officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. i am so sorry to hear about ava she was wonderful to my children and myself when she worked at patterson kennady school in the kitchen god bless you ava you sure blessed us rest in peace
