Ruth KARSTEN Obituary

KARSTEN, Ruth Ann Born June 30, 1926 in Yellow Springs to Jesse and Mary (Kerns) Burgert. She is survived by her son, Donald A. Hinton, daughter-in-law, Mary Hinton and one grandson, Zachary A. Hinton all of Boerne, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, The Rev. John D. Karsten; sister, Marikay Brock and brothers, Don E. and Larry Burgert. She is also survived by two brothers, Charles Burgert with whom she shared a home and Robert Burgert of Oregon; sister-in-law, Nancy Burgert of Beavercreek; four step-children, John Karsten of Sointula Is., B.C., Katherine Champagne of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, Frieda Galligan of Marshfield, MA., Valerie McCandless of Bath, ME and five step-grandchildren. Ruth was a member of the Christ Episcopal Church and Elderly United. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 2 pm in the Rose Hill Mausoleum with inurnment to follow. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church, 409 E. High St., Springfield, OH 45505.
