Donald L. Gillis
Donald L. Gillis, son of the late Mary E. Cale and Donald Gillis, was born May 3, 1969 in Maryland. He went home to be with the Lord on October 5, 2016.
Donald graduated from Middletown High School in 1987. He was very athletic and really enjoyed playing basketball. He later extended his education to become a paralegal. During the early part of his life, he owned and operated "Don's Detailing Company" in Smyrna, DE. In 1999, he was employed by Allentech in Allentown, PA, as a supervisory/foreman. He remained at Allentech until his passing.
On August 5, 1995, Donald was united in Holy Matrimony to Shonna Gillis and from that union Jameria and Jared were born. On August 5, 2016, they celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary. Donald was a dedicated husband and father. He was truly a family man that loved to spend quality time with his wife and children. Donald also loved to go fishing in the Poconos. Donald was preceded in death by his mother and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
He leaves to cherish his very loving wife, Shonna and devoted children, Jameria and Jared; father, Donald Gillis; stepfather, Donald Cale; uncle, Darryl Moore (Marlene); sister, Taira Gillis; brothers, Dontaine Gillis (Karen), Brandon Gillis and Kevin Gillis, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
