Age 77, of Bear, DE, went home to be with the Lord on February 1, 2013.

Sid proudly served our country in the US Marine Corps. He worked as a transmission foreman for Delmarva Power and retired after 35 years service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and cherished the time he spent with his family. Sid was a member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church; he had a passion for helping others and was generous to anyone in need. He was a mentor to many people, had a heart of gold and never judged anyone.

Sid is survived by his wife of over 56 years, Alice C. Staker; 3 daughters, Theresa McCune, Carrie Staker-Jones and husband Robert, Sherri Fromal and husband Dennis; and son, John Staker and wife Cynthia; 2 sisters, Margaret Zonick and Nancy Hutton; and 13 grandchildren.

A service in celebration of Sid's life will be on Thursday, February 7, at noon in Cornerstone United Methodist Church, 3135 Summit Bridge Rd., Bear, DE 19701, where a visitation will be held from 11 am to 12 pm. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE.
