Peter A. Vandever III
Peter A. Vandever III, age 68, of Wilmington, DE, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 6, 2013. Mr. Vandever proudly served in the U.S. Army, B Company, 229th Aviation Battalion (assault helicopter), 1st Calvary Division (air mobile) during the Vietnam War. He loved telling war stories and working on his 1935 Ford. He also enjoyed listening to music and playing his guitar. He cherished his times with his children, grandchildren, and three cats during the holidays.
Peter is survived by his daughters, Jade Jurado and husband Rocky, and Lacey Vandever; brother, William; sister, Dora; and his grandchildren, Emilee and Mia.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 9:30am-11am followed by a service in celebration of Peter's life at 11am. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Peter's name to World Vision, P.O. Box 9716, Federal Way, WA 98063 . Pete was a fine guitar player! His amplifier was taller than him... He had to reach up to adjust the volume. We had some fun times!

Pete was a one of a kind. We Helped him customize his 35 Ford and enjoyed his stories late nights at hellbent. He served our country and we salute him. RIP Pete.
