Margaret K. Glandon "Marge"
AGE: 82 • Newark
Age 82, of Newark, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, December 13, 2013 at Seasons Hospice surrounded by her family.
Born in Burlington, Iowa, Marge was the daughter of the late Albert F. and Esther (Breuer) Koelling. She graduated from nursing school at Deaconess Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She practiced there as a Registered Nurse until her family moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Subsequent moves included Livonia, Michigan and Cherry Hill, New Jersey before settling in Delaware in 1970. She was soon employed by Wilmington Hospital where she worked until she retired in the mid-1990's. She had a passion for cooking and, for many years, also worked at Creative Cooking (later called Kitchen Kapers) and ran a small catering business. In 2003, she began working with her daughter-in-law at Mealey Funeral Home as a hostess and secretary, retiring from there on September 30th.
Marge loved a party and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. Her husband, Merwyn "Merv" Glandon, predeceased her in 1976. Two brothers, Don and Jim Koelling, also predeceased her. She will be dearly missed by her sons and daughters-in-law, Todd and Lori of Wilmington, Delaware and Mark and Maureen of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and her grandsons, who were the love of her life, Alex and his wife, Marjorie, Nick, Henry and Sam. Also surviving is her sister, Betty Lewis of Pleasant Hill, Tennessee; her brothers, Bob Koelling and John Koelling and his wife, Nonie both of Eugene, Oregon; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 28th at 2 PM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, where friends and family are invited to visit after 1 PM. Interment will be private.
The family would also like to thank the staff of units 3E, 3D, and Seasons Hospice at Christiana Hospital for their professional and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, Marge suggested contributions to either Disabled American Veterans, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or to Ronald McDonald House Lodging and Care Program, PO Box 96066, Washington DC 20090-6066.

Wow...what a life Marge has had. I always enjoyed working with Marge & the whole gang at PHTC in outpt psych, and learned a lot from her. She always enjoyed seeing the pts enjoy themselves, and a picnic or a tasty cooking project, or trip out into the comm. w/ them was certainly such a warm and personal touch she looked to share. I have lots of great memories w/ her and I'm grateful I had the opportunity to really get to know you and love you Marge! I hope I'll be seeing you Marge...until then...peace be with you & your family! Sincerely yours, John Gano & Family

Mom, Marge, Grandma! What a devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend you were. You always gave of yourself selflessly and nonjudgmentally. Our lives were truly enriched having had Marge with us. I know that she is up in heaven dancing on the "sunny side of the street"! My thoughts and prayers are with the Keolling and Glandon families at this very sad time.
