Harry Joseph Siegfeldt

Harry Joseph Siegfeldt, age 75, died at Jenner's Pond Skilled Nursing facility on Sunday April 6, 2014 after fighting a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis and cancer. He was born in Bethlehem, PA, the only child of Harry O. Siegfeldt and Elizabeth Miller Siegfeldt, both deceased. He attended Bethlehem Catholic High School, Villanova University BSME, 1960 and Carnegie Mellon University, MSIA, 1962.

He married Joanne Polaha in 1960 and joined DuPont after graduating from Carnegie Mellon. His original assignments were in Newark, Seaford, Wilmington, DE and Geneva, Switzerland. On his return from Switzerland in 1971, he moved to Hockessin, DE and worked for DuPont in Wilmington at various assignments until he retired in 1999 after 37 years of service. In 2009, Harry and his wife moved to Jenner's Pond Retirement Community in Jennersville, PA. He travelled extensively for both business and pleasure having visited over 30 states, 50 countries and all seven continents. After retirement, he particularly enjoyed spending summers at their condo on the beach in Ocean City, MD. Harry was an avid stamp collector all his life, had a vast collection of NASCAR cars, and was a great reader, especially of military history. He was a gourmet, often traveling great distances to find a particular restaurant. He has many reviews on TripAdvisor. In his spare time, he could be found in front of his computer creating spreadsheets on everything and anything.

Harry is survived by his wife Joanne of 53 years; son Scott and his wife Maggie of Williamstown, NJ; granddaughter Amber and a great-granddaughter Ava of Hampton, VA.

Burial will be private. Harry wanted to invite family and friends to a light lunch and a drink which will be held in the Alison Building at Jenner's Pond this Saturday April 12 at noon.

In lieu of flowers, he asked contributions be made to the Jenner's Pond Benevolent Fund, 200 Greenbriar Lane, West Grove, PA 19390.
