Virginia Lee Logan (nee Shields) age 93, formerly of Maplewood, New Jersey died on June 4, 2014 at Cokesbury Village in Hockessin, Delaware where she was a resident for 20 years.

She was a homemaker most of her life. At age 55, Virginia learned secretarial skills and took a job as an administrative assistant at a psychiatric clinic in Summit, New Jersey where she worked for 10 years.

Virginia enjoyed gardening, reading, investigating family genealogy and playing jazz piano.

Virginia was predeceased by husband George A. Logan and granddaughter Heather Hutcheson. She will be greatly missed by daughter Maureen Logan Sandberg and husband Joseph of Wilmington, DE; son George A. Logan, Jr. and wife Gail of Houston, TX; granddaughter Laura Spaulding and husband Dave of Bedford, TX; and grandson John Logan of Houston, TX.

The family wishes to thank those who provided compassion and support, including the staff at Cokesbury Village, especially the assisted living and healthcare units; Vista Hospice; and Toni Reason of Wilmington, DE.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 27 at 11:00 am at the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Melmark Home, 2600 Wayland Road, Berwyn, PA 19312.
