Geraldine Sheppard Obituary
AGE: 83 • Newark
Geraldine A. Sheppard went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2016.
She was born in West Chester, PA and was the daughter of the late Willimettia and John Emmett Needham. She graduated from Kennett HS in 1951. She was married to the late Derondo Sheppard for 21 years. Geraldine retired in 1994 from the former Farmer's Mutual, now Delaware Mutual Insurance Co. after 37 years, as the assistant treasurer. She attended Evangelical Presbyterian Church. Geraldine loved to cook for her family and friends. Anyone in need could always count on Geraldine.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Needham (Phyllis); nieces, Edna Jopson (Gurnie), Pattie Long (Phillip), Rosemary Needham, Linda Morrison (Jim) and Sandy Needham and nephews, Gary Woody and Robert Needham, Jr. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Needham and sister, Willimae Woody.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 13, from 10-11am, at the Chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Hwy, New Castle, where a funeral service will follow at 11am. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.

We are honored and blessed to have known Gerry. She was truly a blessing and sister in our lives and hearts and we will miss her. A good heart has stopped beating and a good soul ascended to heaven. We will never forget you Gerry and we will pray for her as she prayed for us. May God give her eternal rest and peace!
