Robert MacCloskey Obituary
AGE: 94 • Wilmington
Bob MacCloskey, age 94, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in his Wilmington home.
Like so many of his generation Bob led an amazing life. Born and raised in Kennett Square, Bob was proud of his heritage and continued to meet with his high school classmates, however small the group became. Bob spent his adult years in Wilmington raising two sons in Deerhurst, building a career in insurance, and enjoying a long and active retirement. With his wife of over 50 years, Bob traveled to all 50 states and Europe, enjoyed summers in the Eastern Shore of Virginia and later snow birding in Florida. Bob was also an avid golfer.
Bob is survived by his son Bob Jr. and daughter-in-law Ellie. He was predeceased by his wife Evelyn (known by all as Dot) and son Guy.
Family and friends may call at McCrery & Hanna Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, Delaware on Tuesday morning, May 16, between 10 and 11. A memorial service will follow. Interment will be private. To send condolences visit: www.mccreryandharra.com

So very sorry for your loss. My husband and I were neighbors of Bob's briefly at Rockford Condos, and we really enjoyed getting to know him. We had some nice afternoon's at the pool talking about golf and the Phillies.
He spoke so lovingly of his family. We hope the memories you have bring you comfort during this time of sorrow.

I am sad to hear of Bob's death. He was lifelong friends with my father, Ted Hazlett Sr., and also a close family friend with my brother Ted and family. Dad died in 2015, and what I remember most about Bob is that he was a true friend from when he and Dad were kids to the very end of Dad's life. I will always be grateful to Bob for all he did for Dad, and for the many other kindnesses (and smiles and laughs) he gave.
