Julie Edwards Obituary

Julie, Jacob, Brinley and Paxton Edwards

Wilmington, DE - Julie Ann (Burton) Edwards, age 41, of Wilmington, DE and her three beautiful children: Jacob Matthew (6), Brinley Ann (4) and Paxton Reece (3) heartbreakingly left us on Monday, July 9, 2018 and were embraced by their Lord and Saviour.

Julie was born on March 16, 1977 in Havre de Grace, MD to the late John Henry Burton and the late Rosemary (Medley) Burton. Julie was a 1995 graduate of Page High School in Franklin, TN. Julie enjoyed bringing the simple joys in life to people through her many small business endeavors. She was an especially enthusiastic representative for Posh and Tastefully Simple. Julie had a bright smile and loved to be silly and bring smiles to the faces of her close friends and her children. A devoted mother, Julie found her greatest joy in spending time with her children, Jacob, Brinley and Paxton. Jacob was diagnosed with Williams Syndrome at an early age. Julie became an instrumental advocate for awareness of Williams Syndrome and touched the lives of countless families who shared this same path.

Jacob was the happiest child that anyone would ever meet. He loved running and dancing. Jacob would often express his love of music by playing on toy drums and singing, especially "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". He loved to watch musicals. Jacob saw the good in everyone he met and people could not help but fall in love with his bright spirit and loving nature.

Brinley was an innocently mischievous child, with a bright smile and gleeful laugh. She enjoyed watching Trolls, Frozen and The Minions. She was wise beyond her years and would often assume the role as "leader of the pack" while playing with her brothers. Brinley would often play doctor, and would "cure" people with her winning personality and fantastic bedside manner.

Paxton was a quiet, gentle soul. He was most content entertaining himself with his toys. He loved to watch the Disney cartoon "PJ Masks" and play with his toy trucks. He was undoubtedly a "Mama's boy" and was often found napping on Mommy.

When it was coloring time, Julie would ask the children to pick a crayon; inevitably they would choose their favorite colors. Jacob would have all of the blue crayons, Brinley would grab all of the red, and Paxton acquired the green crayons.

The family is survived by brother and uncle, William H. Burton and his fiancée, Sarah Frey; maternal great grandmother, paternal grandfather, countless aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. They were also survived by a host of loving friends.

A celebration of life will be held in their honor at 3pm on Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder Company - Station 8, 410 Ogletown Road, Newark, DE 19711, where family and friends may visit beginning at 1pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made payable to the "Williams Syndrome Association" and sent in care of R.T. Foard & Jones Funeral Home, 122 W. Main St., Newark, DE 19711. I will miss your daily "I love you" texts, our coffee and lunch dates and taking our children to Glasgow park. When I moved to Delaware, you became my first friend who changed my life and brought me to New Beginnings Christian Fellowship church and we got closer throughout the years. I will miss our talks, our laughs, our fun times and I will miss our children hanging out together having fun and laughing. I love you and miss you Julie, Paxton, brinley, and Jacob.

This life can be so cruel sometimes but may you take solace from the idea that at least they aren't suffering. I truly hope you heal from this tragic loss. Words can never do justice to your pain but know that there are people that will have your back.
