1931-2016. On Saturday evening, January 31, 2016, Albie L. Lee escorted by angels ascended to her eternal rest in Heaven. Albie, affectionately known as Dollie, was born on January 6, 1931 in West Chester, Pennsylvania to Thomas Arrington and Luvinia Burruss. Albie was their only child. Albie took pride in the fact that she was a descendant of the intrepid Arctic explorer Matthew Henson. Albie attended Kennett consolidated school district for the primary grades and Howard High School in Wilmington, Delaware for high school. She also attended Spiggs & Donald Beauty Culture College, Lankenau Hospital, as well as The Lincoln University in Pennsylvania. Albie accomplished many first as an African American woman: She Was The First Black lab technician at the Lankenau Hospital, The First Black Clerk at Arthur's Apparel shop, and The First Medicare caseworker for Chester county Board of Assistance.

She leaves to cherished memory six children: Keith, Francine, Arnise, Lawrene, Judy and Lenetta, her beloved 7 grandchildren: Charlene, Arrin, Jonovan, Adrin, Theodore, Brandon and Langston. 8 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents and a son Arrin Burruss.

Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Lincoln University, Mary Dodd Memorial Chapel, 1570 Baltimore Pk., Lincoln University, PA. Friends and family may visit Friday from 7-9:00pm and Saturday from 9-11am at the Chapel. Interment will be private. Arrangements by the Edward L.
