Anacleto Leone, Jr.

AGE: 92 • Wilmington

Anacleto Leone, Jr., age 92, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 with his loving wife and family by his side. Born and raised in Lansing, MI, Anacleto was the son of the late Eugenia and Anacleto Leone, Sr.

As a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II, Anacleto was proud to be a "Screaming Eagle" having served in the U.S. Army 101st Airborne Division. Through the years, he was active with the Parachute Infantry Regiment Association (PIRA) and enjoyed attending reunions to see old friends.

For over 30 years, he was a salesperson with Burroughs Corporation. After retiring, Anacleto worked in sales in Real Estate. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with clay and melted glass to create beautiful pieces of pottery.

Anacleto was devoted to his family and he will be remembered for his fierce family loyalty.

Anacleto is survived by his wife of 69 years, Patricia Anne (Schaefer) Leone; his children, Anacleto Leone, III, Patrick, Christopher, Daniel, and Shaun Leone, Victoria Boyle, Celeste Hartman, and Lisa Scully, and their spouses; his 21 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter; as well as his sister, Bebiana Hartman. He was predeceased by 1 grandchild.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 17 from 10 to 11 AM at St. Mary of the Assumption, 7200 Lancaster Ave., Hockessin, DE 19707, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 or Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Shopping Center, Newark, DE 19711.
