Angela M. Zeccola Obituary
Angela M. Zeccola

AGE: 77 • Wilmington

Our hearts are broken by the sudden passing of our loving wife, mother, grandmother and Gigi on Monday, September, 14, 2015. Angela M. (Riccio) Zeccola was born in Wilmington, DE on November 26th, 1937; she was the oldest daughter of the late Helen (DiSalvo) and Thomas V. Riccio. A lifelong resident of the Wilmington area, Angela also enjoyed spending time at her beach house in Fenwick Island in the summer and going to her home in Naples, FL for the winter. Her true passion was decorating, especially the new model homes for the family home building business. A giving grandmother with a kind heart, she always had a smile and a hug for everyone who walked through her door, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; therefore our traditional Christmas Eve, started during her first year of marriage, will continue in her honor. Angie loved getting together with her girlfriends for their three-hour breakfasts full of giggles. Her famous meatballs will be sadly missed by everyone.

Angie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Michael Zeccola, Sr.; her loving children, Debbie Zeccola Smith, Michael Zeccola, Jr. (Kathy), Lawrence Zeccola (Deborah) and Frank Zeccola (Lyn); her eight beloved grandchildren, Michael, Angela, Nikki, Larry, Anthony, Alexa, Lauren and Mia; and her six beloved great-grandchildren, Isabella, Adalynn, Gabbi, Rylie, Anthony, Ciara and Bryce; her sister, Rosalie Poce; sister-in-law, Joyce Riccio; many other family, friends, and her good neighbors; and a special "thank you" to her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anita and Larry Zeccola for always being there during this difficult time for our family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas "Buddy" Riccio. Angie's family would like to thank all of the first responders that worked so hard as a team when called upon to serve.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm on Friday, September 18th, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 9th and DuPont Streets, Wilmington, where family and friends may visit from 10:30am-11:45am. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Angie’s family suggests making contributions to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19713 or to the , 100 W 10th Street, #1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
