AGE: 66 • Newark

Angelo V. Focarazzo, age 66, of Newark, DE, died peacefully on April 3, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Vito and Katie (Greco) Focarazzo.

Angelo was a graduate of Lafayette High School in New York and had attended Pace University. He had a 39 year career in banking, including JP Morgan, and most recently spent 16 years as Vice President at HSBC, retiring in 2013. He was a parishioner at St. Thomas More Oratory in Newark. Angelo enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels with his wife, Marcella.

Angelo cherished spending time with his family, especially their annual vacation to Montauk. He was an amazing singer and had even serenaded his wife at their wedding. Angelo was an avid New York sports fan, especially proud to be an "original" Mets fan and a NY Giants fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed reading mystery and suspense books. He was well loved by family and friends, who will remember him for always smiling and having a hearty laugh.

Angelo is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Marcella R. Focarazzo (Lundy); his daughter, Lauren Focarazzo and her wife, Abbe Spokane; his grandson, Nathan Focarazzo; his brothers, Emanuel and William Focarazzo; and his sister-in-law, Jane Focarazzo. He was predeceased by his parents, as well as his brother, John Focarazzo, and his sister, Jeanette Temperino.

A viewing will be held on Friday, April 8 from 4 to 7 PM at Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Rd., Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 9 at 10:00 AM at St. Thomas More Oratory, 45 Lovett Ave., Newark, DE 19711. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Angelo's memory to St. Thomas More Oratory.
