AGE: 95 • Wilmington

Ann Marie Vissman Graham, age 95 of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Friday on November 25, 2016 at Sunrise Senior Living of Wilmington.

Born in Wilmington, DE and raised in Louisville, KY, Ann was the daughter of the late Ada Keatley Vissman and Robert Edward Vissman. Her father was President of the C.F. Vissman Meat Company, a family business founded by his grandfather. The eldest of five children, Ann graduated from Atherton High School and attended The University of Kentucky in Lexington. She met her husband James Warren Graham at the University of Kentucky. Graham was pursuing a master's in chemistry there after serving in WWII in the First Army, 65th Infantry Division. They were married in 1949.

The couple moved to Lafayette, IN while Graham studied for his PhD. at Purdue University. He was hired by The DuPont Company shortly before finishing his dissertation and they returned to Louisville. The couple also lived in Muskegon, MI before being transferred to Wilmington, DE. They lived in Wilmington and Unionville, PA before settling in Chadds Ford.

Ann was a past President of PEO Chapter A as well as a past State President. She was active in Panhellenic and was an Alpha Delta Pi sorority. Ann and Jim were avid dancers at the du Pont Country Club cotillions. They were founding members of the Rodney Square Club and active in the American Chemical Society.

Everyone who knew Ann knew her to be full of life - glowing with vitality, with a love of fashion and an extraordinary zest and passion for life that will never be forgotten.

Ann is predeceased by her husband, James Graham in 2007. She is survived by her daughter Marianne Graham Rinker, her husband David and their three children Sarah, Joshua and Christine all of Farmington Hills, MI. She is also survived by her son James E. Graham of Centreville, DE.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Opera Delaware, 4 S Poplar St, Wilmington, DE 19801 or the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, 100 W 10th St #1003, Wilmington, DE 19801.
