Ann T. Vietri Obituary
Ann T. Vietri

(nee Anna Ferrazzo)

AGE: 84 • Wilmington

ANN VIETRI, age 84, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2016. A native Delawarean, she was the daughter of the late Antonio & Maria (DiMarco) Ferrazzo. After her mother died just before she was 7 yrs. old, her father married Stella (Brakoniecki), who became her loving second mother.

Ann graduated from P.S. DuPont HS, Class of 1949 & enjoyed yearly reunions & monthly lunches with a group of classmates who referred to themselves as the "49ers". She also enjoyed regular lunches with a group of friends she grew up with- the "Eastsiders". Ann married the love of her life, Anthony P. Vietri, Jr (her beloved To) on April 18, 1953 & was happily married for 40½ yrs., before he passed away on Oct. 25 1993. She later worked at Brandywine Raceway & WSFS Bank.

She was the family matriarch with strong family values who took pride in caring for others, especially the needs of her family, who meant the world to her. Never putting herself first, she was available for guidance, support, love & prayers. She was a devout Catholic with a deep rooted faith who prayed the rosary daily & every day watched Mass on EWTN. She would often call the prayer line to pray for an individual, even if she didn't know them personally. Ann was also an adorer at St. Ann's & was on the Junior Board of St. Francis Hospital.

She was a longtime parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua Church where she & her husband worked the spaghetti dinners for many yrs. at the Italian Festival & then after moving in with her daughter & son-in-law, she joined IHM Church.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her beloved Tony, her in-laws Antonio & Elvira Vietri, brother/sister in-law Galdino "Jerry" & Marie (Marconi) Ferrazzo, her infant brother Valentino (at 11 mos.), sister/brother-in-law Edith & Eddie Cousineau & sister-in-law Clara Vietri Duszak.

She is survived by her devoted daughter & "son"-in-law Linda and Rick Finney, with whom she lived, was affectionately loved as Mom-Mom to her grandchildren Tricia Rufo (Danny), Ricky Jr, (Crystal Ablao) & Tony & was adoringly known as "G.G." to her great-granchildren Gina & Dominic Rufo and Shayleigh & Vincenzo Finney. She will be remembered fondly by her brother-in-law Ed Duszak & her many loving nieces and nephews, extended family, & cherished friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday morning at 11:30am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4701 Weldin Rd, Wilmington. A visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:30-8pm at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave. in Wilmington with rosary recitation at 5:30pm. Visitation will also be held on Friday morning from 10-11am at CHARLES P ARCARO FUNERAL HOME prior to Mass. Burial will follow in Cathedral Cemetery.
