Anna Lee Gray

AGE: 93 • Selbyville

Anna Lee Gray, age 93, of Selbyville died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Brandywine Senior Living At Fenwick Island. Born in Ridgely, MD she was the daughter of the late Frank M. and Amy (Carroll) Long. She graduated from the former Selbyville High School and attended University of Delaware. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Edward Gray in 1985, her brother, Armel Long and sister, Dorothy Bunting. Anna Lee and her late husband of 43 years owned and operated local businesses including Geo. Edw. Gray Feed Co. At the time of her death, she was President of Shady Park Inc. which she and her husband founded in 1970. She was a life long member of Salem United Methodist Church in Selbyville where she served on and chaired many committees. She was a member of the Eastern Star and a founding member of the 38th District Republican Club. She was an accomplished bridge player, an avid reader and enjoyed many types of needlework. Her knitted Christmas stockings were treasured by family and friends.

Anna Lee is survived by a son, Ronald E. Gray and wife Candice of Selbyville; two daughters, Carolyn G. Smith and husband Jack of Selbyville and Annette G. Ferrell and husband Scott of Greenville, SC; eight grandchildren, Amy Smith O'Donnell, Megan Smith Kamon, Zack Gray, Jackie Gray, Mack Gray, Anna Ferrell, Austin Ferrell, Gray Ferrell and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law Mary Bunting and Geraldine Stevens, both of Selbyville.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, November 15 at Salem United Methodist Church in Selbyville with Rev. Jim Sipes officiating. Friends may call Saturday (Today) from 3 pm to 5 pm at Hastings Funeral Home in Selbyville. Burial will be in Redmen's Cemetery in Selbyville. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Salem United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 410, Selbyville, DE 19975. Condolences may be sent by visiting www.hastingsfuneralhome.net
