Anna M. Snitzer Drahuschak Obituary
Anna M. Snitzer Drahuschak

AGE: 88 • Newark

Anna M. Snitzer Drahuschak, age 88, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 18, 2013, while surrounded by her devoted daughters and loving family.

Born and raised in St. Clair, Pennsylvania on March 18, 1925, Anna was a daughter of the late Charles Snitzer and Bertha Futcho Snitzer, who were both born in Czechoslovakia and arrived here in 1921.

Anna was always a hard worker, holding several jobs throughout her life, but the one she spoke most proudly of, was being an arc welder on Piper Cub planes during WWII. She was a devout Catholic, who faithfully watched mass on television. An avid Lawrence Welk fan, she never missed a show on Saturday night. Anna possessed an amazing memory and was a gifted story teller. Above all else, Anna was a devoted and loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother, who loved unconditionally and with her whole heart. Her family will take solace knowing that she is at peace and will be watching over each of them.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the nurses, doctors, caregivers, and aides of Vitas Hospice, for the excellent care given to Anna during her illness.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Nicholas Drahuschak, who passed away in 1991; brothers, Charles, John, Nicholas, and Baby Georgie; sisters, Bertha, Mary, and Margaret; grandson, Gary Robinson; and granddaughter, Barbara Grand. She is survived by her sister, Rosalie Tasselli; daughters, Elaine, Toni, Barbara (Michael), Eileen, Pamela, and Nicolina (Jack); 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and her faithful canine companion, Daisy.

Friends may call from 6 pm until 8 pm on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 121 W. Park Place, Newark, DE. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 9:45 am on Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Holy Family R.C. Church, E. Chestnut Hill and Gender Roads, Newark, DE. Interment will follow in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice, 100 Commerce, Suite 302, Newark, DE 19713.
