AGE: 88 • Concord, N.C. and Greenville, Del.

Antonio A. Aquino, age 88, of Concord, North Carolina, formerly of Greenville, DE passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 2016.

Antonio was born in Lucena City, Philippines, the son of the late Jose I and Luz Alialy Aquino. He received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree in 1952 from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. He worked for HNTB, Inc. in Chicago Illinois as a civil engineer. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of Jesus, in Daet, Philippines.

Antonio, also known as "Tonying", enjoyed traveling and his extended visits with each of his children and their families. He was truly a loving father and shared with everyone how very important family was to him. He enjoyed relating to the younger generation, sharing stories of growing up during wartime. He was known as "Lolo Techie" because he had a great passion for technology, with his computer, iPhone and iPad. He could master photos and even mastered many versions of solitaire.

Antonio is predeceased by his wife, Emma Cabangon, who passed in 2002. He is survived by his children; Maria Angelita Aquino-Melegrito, of Orlando, FL, Arthur C. and his wife Josie Nario-Aquino of Charlotte, NC, Agnes C. Aquino-Tan and her husband Stewart, of Greenville, DE, Arnel C. and his wife Maribeth Pineda-Aquino of Chesterfield, MO, Maria Amelita Aquino-Oliveros and her husband Ricardo of Concord, NC, Anthony C. and his wife, Ruby Arcellana-Aquino of Chicago, IL, Albert C. and his wife, Ellen Catalan-Aquino of LeMars, IA, Allan C. and Marie Aguilar-Aquino of Wilmington, DE; a sister, Delia Aquino-Yazon and her husband Ruben of Anaheim, CA, a brother, Manuel Aquino of Los Angeles, CA; 20 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

A Viewing will be held on Monday, July 4, 2016 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Chandler Funeral Home, 2506 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 and on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at St. Joseph's on the Brandywine Catholic Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville, DE 19807. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 am. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, DE following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem-Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.
