AGE: 85 •

Born May 19, 1930 in Loysville, PA, Died Oct. 14, 2015 in Bradenton, FL. Audrey graduated in 1948 from John Harris H.S. located in Harrisburg, PA. She received her Registered Nurse degree in 1951 from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing. After receiving her nursing degree, Audrey married James R. Bennett III. Her nursing career spanned 50 years in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Delaware and included serving in the hospital in emergency care, burn units, general care and supervisory roles. She became a Director of Nursing for a retirement facility and also worked as a private duty nurse. Audrey was instrumental in founding a health center for low income inner city residents in Wilmington, DE. Audrey was a member of the Delaware Nurses Association and served for ten years on the Board of the Wilmington Senior Center. In 1995, she was voted Woman of the Year by the Westminster Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon, Elder and as a Synod Representative for Older Adult Committee of Presbyterian Church USA General Assembly.

Audrey is survived by her husband, James of Bradenton, FL, daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Frank Zosh, son and daughter-in-law, James and Norma, daughter Carolyn Bennett-Sullivan, granddaughters Mary Cassidy Sullivan, Christine Deitcher and her husband, Robert, Great granddaughter Ella and great grandson Caleb Deitcher, and Sister-in-law Betty Wilkinson. A memorial service will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 2pm.

Following the service a reception will be held to greet the family. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Audrey M. and James R. Bennett benevolent fund at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Wilmington, DE.
