Barbara E. (Rodenhiser) Pyle

AGE: 72 • Milford

Barbara E. (Rodenhiser) Pyle, age 72, of Milford, DE and formerly of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 26, 2016.

A native Delawarean, Barbara was born in Wilmington on December 2, 1943, and was a daughter of the late John A. and Julia (Faulkner) Rodenhiser. She made her career as a nurse with Christiana Care, retiring after many years of dedicated service. Barbara considered her work a gift from God and a ministry that allowed her to share her compassion and love for people. She was a longtime member of Kemblesville United Methodist Church. A devoted and loving mother, sister and grandmother, Barbara will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" R. Pyle. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Dawn Walsh (Francis) and Hope Woollens; brother, John C. Rodenhiser (Terry); sister, Diana M. Ball (Harold); and grandchildren, James and Jacob Walsh and David Woollens.

A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at the Kemblesville United Methodist Church, 1772 New London Road, Kemblesville, PA 19347. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Delaware Chapter, 2 Mill Road, Ste. 106, Wilmington, DE 19806 or to the Richard J. Caron Foundation Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 150, Wernersville, PA 19565-0150.
