Bauduy Robert Grier, Sr. passed away Sunday, March 05, 2017 in Sandy, Utah. He was 91 years old. Bauduy was a native of Wilmington, Delaware, the youngest of five children born to Alma Warren and Warren Grier. Bauduy graduated from the University of Delaware in 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering. While at Delaware, he was a member of the track and field, and cheerleading teams, captain of the swimming and diving team and was inducted into the Blue Hens Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002. A World War II hero, his plane was shot down in March of 1945 and after attempting to rescue fellow crew members, he was the only survivor and rescued after 23 days floating alone on a life raft in the South China Sea. Known for his sense of humor and generous nature, Bauduy always had a smile, a joke and a willingness to help all me met. He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Monir Kitabchi Parvar and is survived by her son Massoud Parvar and his wife Azzat, of Sandy, Utah along with grandchildren Natasha Larsen, Victor and Ulene Parvar, great-grandchildren Dustin and Hayden Larsen. He is also survived by his first wife Betty Jo Grier, of Glen Mills, PA and their children Stephanie Williams, of Delran, NJ; Jane Layman, of Roanoke, VA and Bauduy Robert Grier, Jr. of San Diego, CA; as well as, grandchildren, Ted Williams, Alison Williams, Elizabeth Burrow, and Victoria Layman. A military funeral is planned for Saturday in Sandy, Utah. Condolences can be sent to Mountain View Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3115 East 7800 South, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121.
