Betty J. Brustman passed away at her home on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. She was born in Wilmington to Irene and George Jarrell.

She graduated from Conrad High School. Her focus in life was on her family; she was deeply devoted to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Red Clay Presbyterian Church. Betty enjoyed reading Danielle Steel novels and was a Phillies fan and an Elvis fanatic. Before starting a family, she was a telephone operator. She loved her summer house in Cape May.

She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Willard R. and her son Mark. She is survived by Mark's wife Donna, her 4 children, Scott (Irina), Darlene Tulloch (Charles), David (Lorraine & Darlene) and Glen; brother Jack Jarrell (Joanne); sister-in-law Evelyn Brustman, grandchildren Delia Kempski, Jeremy Brustman, Julia Tulloch, Jennifer, David Jr., Kristine, Lauren, James, Charles III, Eric, Charlene, Emily and Lizzy; and great grandchildren Lexi, Logan, Alexia, Ellie; her sister and lifelong best friend, Margie Henretty. The family wishes to extend a thanks to Christiana Hospital and to her granddaughter Charlene who provided care for her during her long illness. Her granddaughter Lizzy for keeping her cheerful And, to Shenia who tirelessly worked to keep her comfortable during her final days.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 21, at Red Clay Presbyterian Church, 500 McKennans Church Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, at 10:30am, where friends may call after 9:30am. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to her church.
