Carl Hauser Obituary
Carl Hauser

AGE: 95 • Wilmington, Delaware

Carl Hauser, age 95, passed away on August 9, 2016 at Forwood Manor in Wilmington, DE surrounded by his loving family.

Carl was born in February 1921, the son of Harvey and Effie Hauser. Upon completing his education, Carl enlisted in the Marine Corps serving in the South Pacific from 1942 to 1945. Upon returning to the States, he became a builder in New Castle County. He built custom homes in both Brandywine Hundred and the Hockessin area.

His interests were many and varied. He was a pilot and owned his own planes. Flying was a joy and was a way for him to relax. He loved to travel and did so extensively both abroad and in the United States.

Carl was involved in many philanthropic organizations, but closest to his heart was the Marine Corps League and the services they provided for Veterans at the Veterans Hospital in Elsmere.

He was a member of the Brandywine Rotary since 1958, a Paul Harris Fellow and was active in the V.F.W. and the American Legion.

In addition to his parents, Carl was predeceased by his first wife Margaret Hauser; three brothers Luther, Gilbert and Mervin Hauser; and two sisters Grace Kirk and Mary Holloway. He is survived by his wife Raymona (Ronnie) Hauser; son Carl; son Jim and his wife Becky; daughter Carlie and her husband Choya Shane; grandchildren Carl Corwin and Lauren Hauser, Spencer James, Carl Thomas and Jessica Benoit, Eugene Stewart, Mary Neutz and Bruce A. Shaver, Jr.; and ten great-grandchildren.

Carl's family can go anywhere in Delaware and the adjoining States and look with pride at the homes he built which represent the character of the man who built them. It can truthfully be said by all who knew him that he was a good and honest man. Our family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the entire staff at Forwood Manor.

A memorial gathering will be held from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Monday August 15, 2016 at the CHANDLER FUNERAL HOME, 7230 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin. A committal service will follow at 1:00 pm at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.
