Caroline M. George Obituary
Caroline M. George

AGE: 93 • Wilmington

Caroline M. George, age 93 of Wilmington, DE died peacefully on December 27, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.

Caroline gracefully adapted to a senior lifestyle, recognizing the need to transition to safer, one floor living arrangements and making good use of physical aids as needed. She lived independently and happily for 22 years at Cliff House Condominiums, surrounded by caring, loving and helpful friends in a community setting where neighbors help one another. Her outgoing and ever-helpful personality gained her many dear friends over the years who were a great comfort to her. Caroline recognized the importance of accepting the guidance of family, friends and professionals and took the sometimes difficult steps to ensure her own safety and thereby ensuring independence. As we all inevitably age, it is so important for all friends and family to engage one another with these transitions --- to grow and adapt, not live in denial and to live well-informed, safe lives, accept the help available to us and help others as well as we can as long as possible. Caroline's years were greatly enhanced in so many ways by the wonderful volunteers at County Police Senior Roll Call who called daily to check on her well being and by the good people at Meals On Wheels who not only provided important meals but more importantly, daily genuine caring contact and a reason to get up and be ready for the day presentable. Lastly, but so important was the amazing care at Compassionate Care Hospice who made not only Caroline's journey so much easier but the family as well. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert F. George who died in 1994 and a siblings, Paul Neff, Henry Neff & Doris Piccolli. She is survived by her sons, Stephen J. George (Richard Cohen) & Albert George Jr. (Sky) and a daughter, Alberta Summers, 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, 9-10 AM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd. Garnet Valley, PA followed by funeral services at 10 AM. Interment Lawn Croft Cemetery, Linwood, PA.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to Compassionate Care Hospice , 405 East Marsh Lane Suite 4, Newport, DE 19804 or City Fare/Meals on Wheels 1703 West 10th Street Wilmington, DE 19805 or simply, please donate your time to any senior or helping facility--- it will be appreciated more than you can know.
