AGE: 69 • Wilmington

Catherine E. Rapuano, age 69, of Wilmington, passed away on October 16, 2015. Catherine was born in Wilmington, DE on April 12, 1946, daughter of the late Joseph A. and Rose M. (Malgiri) Eoppolo. Together with her husband, she owned and operated Rapuano Iron, LLC. She had also worked as a secretary and Mortgage Commissioner and had earned awards for her proficiency in both typing and shorthand. She had also won a nationwide spelling bee. Her proudest and most joyous work came as a mother. Catherine was an endlessly loving and devoted homemaker, enjoying cooking and cherishing time spent with her family. She also possessed a deep affection for dogs and was an avid sports fan. Catherine will always be remembered for her powerful and genuine compassion as well as her loving influence that engulfed those fortunate to have known her. Her unwavering empathy and consideration led to her often being referred to as an "Angel on Earth" by the many whose lives she touched. She will be dearly missed.

Catherine is survived by her devoted husband of 48 years, Leon J. "Binky" Rapuano, Jr; children, Leon J. "Bobs" Rapuano III, Gina Rapuano, and Joseph Rapuano; her beloved "babies", Armani and Bruno; granddaughter, Kayla Rapuano; brothers, Joseph C. Eoppolo (Bertha), Michael Eoppolo (Delores), David Eoppolo, John Eoppolo (Kathy), and Thomas Eoppolo; niece, whom she raised, Nichole Eoppolo; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Francis Eoppolo, and her parents-in-law, Leon and Rose Rapuano.

Visitation will be held at the CHARLES P. ARCARO FUNERAL HOME, 2309 Lancaster Ave in Wilmington, on Thursday, October 22 from 11am-1pm, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 1pm. Entombment will follow in Cathedral Cemetery, 2400 Lancaster Ave in Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the , 100 W 10th St, #1002, Wilmington, DE 19801.
