AGE: 65 • Hartly

Catherine M. Kratochwill Gravenor, 65, of Hartly, DE passed away on March 25, 2016. Born Nov. 23, 1950 in Philadelphia, PA she grew up in Aldan, PA and attended St. Joseph's Catholic Elementary School and Archbishop Prendergrast High School. After graduating she started her career with Bell Telephone as an Operator in Darby, PA. She quickly advanced through the company and retired after 35 years of service with Verizon as an Architectural Engineering Supervisor. She married Nicolas Kratochwill in 1971 after meeting at the Chez Vous Roller Rink on 69th Street at the age of 21 and gave birth to her son Christopher in 1977. After the passing of her first husband in 1993, she was blessed with a second marriage to Woodrow Gravenor of Newark, DE in 1995 after meeting at Skaters Choice in New Jersey. After retiring and moving to Hartly, DE, she worked part time at Willie Farms in the Home Accents Department and enjoyed working as a decorator for the store during the holiday season. Woody and Cathy enjoyed traveling around the world attending Hot Rod Shows and numerous visits to Las Vegas, NV.

Mrs. Gravenor is survived by her husband of 21 years, Woodrow E. Gravenor; her son, Christopher M. Kratochwill and his wife Jennifer of Las Vegas, Nevada; her step-daughter, Pamela E. Senne and her fiancé Charles Dorsey of Dover, DE; her brother, Joseph Brooks of W. Palm Beach, FL; her sister, Maryanne Rollans of Camden, DE; and four grandchildren: Nathaniel, Nickolas, Andrew, and Lily.

A viewing will be from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, DE 19934. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 1, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 522 Main Street, Marydel, MD 21649. Burial will follow in DE Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Online condolences may be made via www.pippinfuneralhome.com
