Catherine R. "Kitty" Frazier Obituary
Catherine "Kitty" R. Frazier

AGE: 89 • Midland, MI

Catherine "Kitty" R. Frazier, 89, of Midland formerly of Felton and Wilmington, Delaware, died Saturday morning, July 15, 2017 at her home. She was born July 9, 1928 in Felton, DE, daughter of the late Walter and Helen (Laramore) Raughley. Kitty graduated as an outstanding student from Felton High School in 1946 and married Ray E. Frazier in 1947. At that time Ray was in school at Beacom College Wilmington and they made Wilmington their home. Kitty immediately found employment there with the Du Pont Co. to help support Ray while he finished his schooling. Later she changed jobs to a banking career at Wilmington Trust Company and Bank of Delaware in order to coincide with Ray's work hours. However, she did return to the Du Pont Co. and retired in 1985. When Ray retired at the end of 1986 they moved to Dover, DE but returned to Wilmington in 1998 and then moved to Midland in July 2009 to be near their son Kevin and his family.

She is survived by her son Kevin A. (Rev. Lyn) Frazier of Midland; grandson Matt (Heather) Frazier, and great grandson Corbin Frazier. Kitty is also survived by her sister Anne Ware of Felton, DE as well as nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ray on February 25, 2017, granddaughter Sarah Ellene Frazier and a brother-in-law Vincent Ware.

Kitty was always a gracious hostess. Historically, the pineapple is a symbol of hospitality and Kitty personified that openness and graciousness. On her door there was a pineapple inviting all who entered to come in and enjoy a visit.

In accordance with Kitty's and her family's wishes, cremation services have been entrusted to the care of the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home. Kitty and Ray's cremains will be interred - together -at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Midland County Habitat for Humanity, 1703 South Saginaw Road, Midland, MI 48640.
