Charles M. Schusteritsch Obituary
Charles M Schusteritsch

AGE: 78 • Middletown

Charles Michael Schusteritsch, 78, of Middletown, DE, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on December 14, 2016.

Chuck was born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 30, 1938, to Isabella (Finnigan) and Charles Schusteritsch. He met the love of his life, Eileen Phelan, while at the beach with friends, and they married in March, 1964. He and Eileen were blessed with a strong marriage, two sons, four grandchildren, and a great-grandson. Chuck was a devoted husband, exemplary father, doting grandfather, and loving father-in-law. He was very social, and enjoyed being around his family and friends at every chance. He loved everyone, and everyone loved him! Chuck never missed a birthday party, cookout, sporting event, or opportunity to play golf with his sons and golf buddies. As an avid NY Giants fan, and a devoted Catholic, the perfect Sunday for him was Mass, followed by a win for the Giants!

Upon graduation, Chuck went to work for Chase Manhattan Bank. He spent the next 39 years building a successful career, and retired as a Second Vice President. After a few years, he returned to work at his "no stress job", a Slots Supervisor at Delaware Park. He finally retired in 2008 to care for Eileen.

Chuck was predeceased by his wife, Eileen, in June, 2008. He will be forever missed by his son Michael, his wife Sharon, granddaughters Kalynn and Alyssa, great-grandson Wyatt, and Wyatt's father, Craig Smith; and son Geoffrey, his wife Erin, and grandsons Gabriel and Gavin.

A visitation and Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Church, 319 East Main Street, Middletown, DE 19709, on Wednesday, December 21. Family and friends may visit beginning at 3:30PM, and Mass will be celebrated at 4:30PM. A reception will follow at the Parish Hall. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE
