Charles Reese, "Chuck", 88, of Warminster, PA (formerly of Hockessin, Delaware for over 40 years), passed away peacefully on Friday, July 8, 2016, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Mount Pleasant, PA, Chuck was the youngest of nine, born to the late Jerry Hout and Carrie Belle (Whipkey) Reese. He is a World War II Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Army from 1945-1947 at the end of the war. Chuck is a graduate of Indiana State Teachers College (PA), the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Delaware. For over 30 years, he worked for the DuPont Company, retiring as an Information Specialist.

Chuck had a love for music and was a gifted singer. He performed in musical groups for many years, including The Madrigal Singers of Wilmington, the Brandywiners Chorale, and the Limestone Church Choir, where he was an active member of the church for over 45 years. In recent years, he sang with both the Ann's Choice Chorus and Choir. In addition, he played the piano and was a Bandsman (trumpet) while in the Army. Chuck was a member of the American Legion Post 10, the Wilmington Trail Club with which he was an avid hiker, and several other community groups. He also enjoyed reading, gardening, playing poker and telling jokes. And he was a dedicated Pitt fan (Panthers, Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins).

Chuck will be dearly missed by his wife of 65 years, Marilyn Jean (Bennett) Reese; his daughters, Sheryl "Sherry" DiCarlo (Tony) of Pennsauken, NJ and Karen Lynn Reese (Susan Phillippe) of North Wales, PA; his son, Charles Dana Reese of Baltimore, MD; five grandchildren, Jason and Shanna DiCarlo and Christopher, Adam and Salena Reese; and his caregiver, Mercedes Boileau.

Friends and family are invited to visitation on Saturday, July 16th after 2 PM at Limestone Presbyterian Church, 3201 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE where funeral services will begin at 4 PM. Burial at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear, DE will be Monday, July 18th at 2 PM. A memorial service will also be held on Saturday, July 23rd at 11 AM at Ann's Choice Retirement Community Chapel, 10000 Ann's Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sunday Breakfast Mission, 110 N. Poplar Street, Wilmington, DE 19801. Condolences may be made at MealeyFuneral (302) 652-5913
