Christ G. Issaris Obituary
Christ George Issaris

AGE: 79 • Wilmington

Christ G. Issaris passed away peacefully on November 9, 2015 at Genesis Health Care, Brackenville.

Christ was born in Salem, NJ into a loving Greek family. He graduated Salem High School in 1953 and continued his education at Stetson University, University of Miami and Evangel College.

Christ held clerical positions at Laird, Bissel and Mead, DOD, Vets Welding, Diver Chevrolet and also worked many years as a cashier at the Wilmington Parking Authority.

While attending University of Miami, as part of the ROTC program, he developed a love of flying and traveling, especially to Florida, his favorite state.

Music was Christ's passion and he always had his earphones on, listening to either gospel, country, bluegrass, pop, Irish, Greek and opera. He spent many hours playing his guitar and keyboard and singing spontaneously wherever he was.

He enjoyed photography and distributing his photos at his favorite "hangouts" …Concord Mall, Boothwyn Farmers Market, and at his Luther Towers residence. He made many friends with his talent in ping-pong in which he excelled. He was a loving, kind soul.

The family wishes to thank Steve, Natalia and Geri of Brackenville and Terrica of Horizon House for the love and excellent care they provided to Christ.

He is survived by his brother Michael Issaris (Cheryl), of Hockessin; sister Katherine Issaris, of Wilmington; sister Helen Vounas (Ronald) of Gladwyne, PA; nephew George Issaris, of Dover; Dr. Demetra Vounas of Skaneateles, NY; Andrea Vounas of Philadelphia; and Jolene Preston (Robert) of Wilmington.
