Claudina "Dina" Susi Obituary
Claudina "Dina" Susi

Wilmington - Claudina, 92 of Wilmington, peacefully passed away, May 10th, 2019, at Christiana Hospital.

Dina was born in Introdacqua, Province of L'Aquila, Abruzzo, Italy, to the late Francesco and Elda Del Signore. Dina immigrated to the United States in 1964 after spending ten years in Argentina. She dedicated over 30 years to being an event coordinator and cook for the St. Anthony of Padua Fournier Hall. She took pride in making everyone's event as special as possible. Dina touched so many lives with her extraordinary cuisine. She worked at Attilio's and shared her homemade pasta skills with local restaurants.

Sharing her culinary talents was one of her great joys. She was also passionate about gardening, being a member of Giuseppe Verdi Lodge, and contributing to the Sunday Socials At St. Anthony's.

Every Sunday was a holiday in Dina's kitchen and no one left without a take-home bag. Her tiramisu was as like no other along with cookies galore. You name it, mamma made it!

Dina is survived by her husband of 66 years, Venanzio Susi; sons Luciano Susi, Claudio Susi (Dianne), and Omar Susi; grandchild Natalie; brother Carmine Del Signore (Connie); sister Paolina Vitale; sister-in-law Filomena Del Signore; and dear friend Angelina Porreca. Dina is preceded in death by brothers Luciano Del Signore and Vilio Del Signore.

A Noon Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 17th, 2019, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 901 N. DuPont St. Wilmington DE 19805. A viewing will begin at 10:30 am. Entombment to follow at Cathedral Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
