Connie, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away on Sunday, February 28, 2016 in Elkton, MD.

Connie is survived by her three sons, Glenn J. and wife Cheryl of Elkton, MD, Mark D. and wife, Rosanna of Middletown, DE and Andrew G. and wife, Cindy of Elkton, MD and brother, James F. Garvin and wife, Jean of Glenside, PA. "Nanie" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was a proud grandmother to eight, Glenn J. Gee, Jr. and wife, Judy, Michael Gee and wife, Susan, all of Elkton, Dustin Mushinski and husband, Keith, Brooke Birzes and husband, Jeff, Kacey Gee and fiancée, Walter Taylor, all of Middletown, DE and Caitlin, Marlie and Juliann Gee of Elkton, MD; and eight great grandchildren, Joey, Josslyn, MacKenzie, Reese, Reagan, Michael, Jase and Charlie.

Connie was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Donald M. Gee, daughter, Catherine F. Gee and parents, Joseph F. and Loretta M. (Jacquette) Garvin.

Connie was born on June 5, 1932 in Philadelphia and was a graduate of Abington High School. A lifelong lover of many sports, she played tennis, field hockey and basketball. She arrived in Elkton as a young bride in February 1952 and quickly became active in the community when Don purchased the Pippin Funeral Home from his uncle. The business was renamed the Gee Funeral Home and Connie and Don, along with their sons, served families in Elkton for 42 years until they sold the business to their youngest son, Andrew.

Connie was active in community service including being a Past President of the Junior Board of Union Hospital of Cecil County and a twenty-five year Member of the Order of the Eastern Star. With three active boys she turned her attention to their school and sports activities and ensuring they had summertime fun at their family cottage on the Elk River. Over the years, Connie volunteered with the boys' sports and later she was a constant presence at the college games from Salisbury to Gettysburg to Wilmington. As her grandchildren arrived and grew she loved attending their games in a wide variety of sports. It was her greatest pleasure to share these times with her grandchildren.

Connie valued her Ladies Bridge Club of fifty years, sharing this time with other young Elkton brides. Over the years she spent many wonderful beach afternoons at her condos in Ocean City and Florida. At the age of 50, she took up golf and played many rounds at local courses. More recently, she contributed one day per week to the Good as New Shop of Union Hospital enjoying the camaraderie of the ladies there.

Funeral services will be held 1 pm on Tuesday afternoon, March 1, 2016 at Elkton United Methodist Church, 219 E. Main Street, Elkton, Maryland where a visitation will be held from 11 am until 1 pm. Officiating will be The Rev. Karen F. Bunnell. Interment will be held privately in Gilpin Manor Memorial Park, Elkton.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cecil County YMCA Scholarship Fund for Youth Sports Programs, 25 YMCA Boulevard, Elkton, MD 21921.
