Constance M. "Jane" Biggs

AGE: 81 • Elkton, MD

Constance Moore "Jane" Biggs, age 81, of Elkton, MD, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Born in Elkton on July 2, 1935, she was the daughter of the late William J. and Frances Mahan Moore.

A registered nurse, Mrs. Biggs began her nursing career as a staff nurse at Union Hospital, rising through the ranks to become the Director of Nurses. She was instrumental in the development of the new Intensive Care Unit at Union Hospital. Mrs. Biggs was a member of the Old Nurses Breakfast Club, and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles. She loved the game of golf, and achieved a golfer's dream by making a hole-in-one.

Survivors include her children, Rebecca A. Biggs, Tilghman, MD, Allen G. Biggs, Jr., and Sandra J. Biggs, both of Elkton, MD; brother, Craig Moore and wife, Jean, Elkton, MD; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Biggs was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Allen G. Biggs, Sr.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Hicks Home for Funerals, 103 W. Stockton Street, Elkton, MD 21921, where visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be in Bethel Cemetery, Chesapeake City, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Union Hospital Baskets of Hope, in care of the funeral home at the above address.
