AGE: 92 • Wilmington

Coy W. Snow, age 92, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 9, 2016.

Born in Winston-Salem, NC on January 16, 1924, Mr. Snow was a son of the late Walter Bryant and Mandy Lou (Hawks) Snow. He made his career as a machine operator with Electric Hose & Rubber, retiring after 30 years of dedicated service. After retiring, Mr. Snow accepted a custodial position with the Red Clay Consolidated School District where he worked for an additional 10 years. He was well liked by his fellow employees and admired for his strong work ethic.

A devout Christian, Mr. Snow was a founding member and a deacon of the Church of God of Prophecy where he received a lifetime achievement award for being a dedicated member of the church. A passionate collector, he enjoyed visiting local yard sales in search of good bargains. Mr. Snow liked traveling whenever possible and had visited Hawaii and the Holy Land twice. He was an avid gardener and was well known for his ability to nurse back to health any houseplant in need of his special care. A devoted and loving family man, Mr. Snow will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty J. (Upole) Snow; 2 brothers; and 3 sisters. Mr. Snow is survived by his sons, Bob Snow and Ronald Snow (Maureen) both of Newark and Doug Snow and Tim Snow (Trish) both of Wilmington; 11 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Monday morning, February 15, 2016, at the Chapel of Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where a visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am. Interment will follow in the adjoining memorial park.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Community Vision Fellowship Church, 34 Kings Avenue, New Castle, DE 19720 and the Delaware Humane Association, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
