Curtis J. Butler, Sr.

AGE: 75 • Hockessin

Curtis J. Butler, Sr., 75, of Hockessin, DE peacefully passed away surrounded by family in the comfort of his home on Wednesday, December 23, 2015.

Curtis was born in Wilmington on July 7, 1940, son of the late Curtis W. and Jessie (Konopka) Butler. A graduate of Conrad High School, he proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps, and was employed with Pipefitters Local #74. Curtis was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a talented woodworker, an avid fisherman, and enjoyed many outdoor activities.

Curtis will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Linda; his daughter, Tammy Lynn Butler and fiancé, Bill Gore; his son, Curtis J. Butler, Jr.; his grandchildren, Gary Lee Boys, Jr., Curtis J. "CJ" Butler, III, and Evan James Butler; and his great grandchildren, Jeremy Boys, Gabriel, Jesse and Elliott Butler. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard Butler and Ronnie Butler.

He was predeceased by his brother, Jerry Butler.

The family would like to thank the staff of Compassionate Care Hospice for the loving care given to Curtis.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Pike Creek on Wednesday, December 30 from 10:00AM-12:00PM. Funeral services will begin at 12:00PM, with interment to follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park.
