Cynthia Gillespie Spall Obituary
Cynthia Gillespie Spall

AGE: 84 • Carneys Point

Cynthia Gillespie Spall, 84, of Carneys Point, NJ passed away on June 15, 2017. Born in Deepwater, NJ on February 24, 1933, Cynthia was the daughter of the late James & Columbia (Johnson) Gillespie. Prior to joining in the family business, she worked at DuPont Chamber Works as a secretary for the plant's doctor. She was a devout Catholic and long-time member of Corpus Christi R.C. Church and was active in the Altar & Rosary Society and the St. James School PTA. She loved to sing, dance, and attend parades and especially the Cowtown Fair & Rodeo. Additionally, her RV travel adventures were highlighted by visits to Maine, Yellowstone and Disney World. As a result of her brothers and husband serving in the Army and Navy, Mrs. Spall was connected to the military and was life-long patriotic and believed that our veterans should be well cared for.

Cynthia always stressed the importance of family and friends and enjoyed spending quality times together including holidays and celebratory gatherings as well as time at the pool and beach or simply having ice cream.

Cynthia is survived by her children, Rosemary Baughn and her partner Lou Tamburro, Joanne Beardsley, and Joseph J. Spall III and his wife Barbara, and seven grandchildren, Sara, Peyton and Justin Baughn, Cynthia and Krista Beardsley, Joseph IV and Caroline Spall. In addition, Cynthia is survived by her sister Eva Foster and many loving friends, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, husband Joseph J. Spall, Jr. and five siblings James, Jack and Gene Gillespie, Mary Soloman and Wilma Keeler.
