Dale Eurenius Obituary
Dale Eurenius

Pikesville

On January 6th Dale Eurenius of Pikesville, MD ended her long battle with cancer. Dale was the daughter of the late Carl and Gertrude Eurenius of Wilmington, DE.

She is survived by her brothers Karl (Frances Maffitt), Keith (Mary Ann), nephews Carl (Julie) and Keith, nieces Kirsten Lacey, Heather Eurenius, six great nephews, step-nephew Joseph Reid, and her long time friend, with whom she made her home for the last eleven years, Deborah Frans.

Dale graduated from Brandywine High School, University of Findlay in Ohio, and received her Master's Degree in Sociology from the University of Delaware.

For sixteen years, Dale was the vital administrative assistant working with Marge Meyermann to direct the State's volunteer program which benefitted welfare clients. Thousands of families, statewide, received substantial assistance through the Adopt-a-Family program.

In 1996, as co-leaders, Dale and Marge left state employment to set up a non-profit, New Pathways, to demonstrate how clients, with the help of volunteers, could become independent of welfare. This pilot program had a 50% success rate.

Donations can be made in Dale's memory to the Baltimore Humane Society, 1601 Nicodemus Rd, Reisterstown, MD 21336
