Daniel E. Albert Obituary
Daniel E. Albert

AGE: 46 • Wilmington

On Sunday, May 29, 2016, Daniel E. Albert passed away at home unexpectedly, but peacefully in his sleep; resulting from complications of a prior stroke. He was predeceased by his mother, Stephanie Albert and survived by his father, Edward J. Albert; his sister, Bernadette Donohue (Jerry); his Godfather, Harry F. Albert (Anna), aunts, uncles, cousins and members of his extended family.

Danny was born in Ridley Park, PA immediately exuberant; throwing himself headfirst into play and always scraping knees, denting his chin and dirtying his clothes as a young boy. He had a gift for making friends and made many along his journey through St. John the Beloved, Delcastle High School, his work at Pietro's Pizza, the Grand Opera House and his work for the Delaware Symphony both in state and in Lancaster, PA.

Danny was passionate about music and was attuned to the finest craftsmanship of the working musician and his own Gretsch guitar. He believed in expressing his creativity in his own personal style. He loved Tom Waits, the Clash's "Brand New Cadillac", Dick Dale's whaling surfer riffs, Hank Williams' "Ramblin' Man", themes of the Spaghetti Westerns, goth of all types, as well as classical music. He was a terrific cook, vegetable gardener and avid Flyers fan.

Above all, he cherished the camaraderie of his friends. Danny was a straight shooter, a terrific listener, philosopher, and a great-hearted soul.

Family and friends are invited to visit from 9:00 - 10:30AM on Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Doherty Funeral Home, 3200 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00AM at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Interment will be held in All Saints Cemetery.

".. and the corner sign says it's closing time, so I'll bid farewell and be down the road..". Say a prayer, send your thoughts, play your favorite song.
